Jalandhar: The Cluster-level Rashtriya Ekta Parv of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Chandigarh region, was inaugurated at PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya No 2, Jalandhar Cantt. Around 300 students from nine schools within the Jalandhar cluster are participating in this event. The event features a variety of cultural performances, including group dance, solo dance, vocal music, instrumental music, 2D and 3D visual art, indigenous toys and local crafts. Ravinder Kumar, Principal of the host school, delivered a warm welcome address.

Sainik School wins sports medals

At the Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan held at the Guru Nanak Stadium in Kapurthala, Sainik School Kapurthala’s basketball teams performed well in both the Under-14 and Under-17 categories. As many as 10 cadets from the school have been selected to represent at the upcoming state-level competition, set to commence in Faridkot on October 11. Cadet Pawanpreet Singh clinched the gold medal in the U-21 400-meter race, commanding a lead of at least 10m throughout the race. Principal Group Captain Madhu Sengar, Vice Principal Wing Commander Deepika Rawat and Administrative Officer Lt Col JBS Beg along with the entire staff, extended their heartfelt congratulations to the victorious team and coach Devender Singh.

Dr Sharma is DAVIET principal

Dr Sudhir Sharma has been appointed as the Principal (officiating) of DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology (DAVIET). Having a background in electrical engineering, he has remained involved in research work and has guided 12 MTech students in their theses and has supervised PhD candidates, along with publishing 56 research papers and authoring three books. He is an active member of several professional organisations, including IAENG and ISTE, and has received multiple awards for his teaching excellence.

Death anniversary observed

The death anniversary of Shanta Chopra, founder of St Soldier Group of Institutions, was observed at the Leprosy Ashram. On her death anniversary, her elder son Anil Chopra, Chairman St Soldier Group, daughter-in-law Sangeeta Chopra (Vice Chairperson) and younger son Sunil Chopra specially visited at Ashram. Principal Manginder Singh of St Soldier Inter College and staff members were also present. Puja was performed by Pandit ji and a langar was organised for the patients living in the Leprosy Ashram. The family distributed langar to everyone.

Tiny tots visit fun zone

Tiny tots of Play Yard to UKG from State Public School, Jalandhar Cantt, visited Fun Zone, Curo Mall. The kids enjoyed various rides, danced for fun and gobbled up cuisines offered to them. President Dr Narotam Singh, Vice President Dr Gagandeep Kaur and Principal Savina Bahl were overjoyed by seeing the fantastic way of enjoyment by these kids.

Gandhi Jayanti celebrated

Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated at Seth Hukam Chand SD Public Senior Secondary School. A special assembly was conducted in which students were informed about the life history of Mahatma Gandhi. Students delivered speech and recited the poems. Principal Priyanka Sharma encouraged students to become self-reliant and to imbibe the principles of Gandhiji in their lives.

Gandhi, Shastri remembered

Birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri was celebrated on the Gurukul campus. A special assembly was conducted. Poster making and poem recitation contests were conducted on this occasion. A speech on Swabhav Swachhata Sanskar Swachhata mesmerised the audience. Director Sushma Handa had given the floral tributes to both personalities. Principal Radha Gakhar threw light on their life. She also added that today’s youth must follow the path of such patriots in their lives. The celebration was ended with Vande Mataram.

Cadets receive NCC ‘A’ certificates

National Cadet Corps (NCC) Air Wing cadets of Emm Aar International School, Adampur, have been awarded NCC ‘A’ certificates. A total of 14 exemplary cadets, including Jasmeet Singh, Samreet Kaur, Simran Jhim, Gurinder Singh, Dimple Kumari, Gurmanpreet, Shilpa, Archana, Jashandeep Singh, Umang Paramvir Singh, Aren Massey, Navneet Rai and Sarabjot Kumar, received the certificates.

Gandhi Jayanti celebrated

Amritsar: Children of EuroKids Pre-school celebrated the life and teachings of Mahatma Gandhi with enthusiasm. They organised a variety of activities, including storytelling sessions, role plays, and art competitions, along with the craftwork of Charkha that helped the children grasp the principles of non-violence, peace, and truth. Under the leadership of the principal, Kirti Matta, the school is committed to creating an environment of learning where children grow with academic skills and also a deep understanding of moral values.

‘Run for DAV’ organised

“Run for DAV” was organised on October 2 as a part of the DAV sports activities. The event was organised jointly by DAV International School, DAV Public School, Lawrence Road, and Police DAV Public School. Students, teachers, and other individuals were involved in this mega event.
