Campus notes: Kaithal girl wins poetry competition
Shivani, a BA-III student of Indira Gandhi Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Kaithal, brought pride to the college by securing the first place in poetry recitation competition at the national integration camp. Principal Dr Aarti Garg shared that the camp was recently organised at SD College, Panipat, by the NSS Cell of Kurukshetra University, under the direction of the Higher Education Department, Government of Haryana, in which 200 NSS volunteers from 17 states across the country participated. Ram Bahadur Khurania, president of the college management committee, congratulated Shivani and awarded her a prize in recognition of her success.
Principal gets warm send-off
Yamunanagar: The Guru Nanak Khalsa College Managing Committee, along with the teaching and non-teaching staff of various colleges including, Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Guru Nanak Khalsa Institute of Management and Technology, Guru Gobind Singh College of Pharmacy and GNK Alumni Association, and 14 Battalion Haryana NCC Unit organised a warm farewell for Principal Major Harinder Singh Kang on his retirement. Dr Kang joined Guru Nanak Khalsa College in August 1989 and was appointed as Principal in August 2019. With over 28 years of dedicated service in the NCC, he was honoured with various awards from the district administration, the director general of the NCC, and received a commandant medal during his pre-commission course. His leadership shaped the futures of many cadets who now serve in the Indian Army, police, and various other organisations. In his speech, Dr Kang expressed gratitude for the support he received throughout his tenure. He said it had been a privilege to serve the institution and contribute to the development of countless students and cadets. Major RS Bhatti, vice-president of the group, along with general secretary Sardar Balwant Singh Banga and Sardar Tirlok Singh, presented a token of respect to Dr Kang on behalf of the managing committee for his exceptional service.
