Campus notes: Kaithal college honours students
RKSD College, Kaithal, recently celebrated its annual prize distribution ceremony, honouring students who excelled in various cultural competitions throughout the year. President Ashwani Shorewale, along with office-bearers, members of the governing body and Principal Sanjay Goyal, distributed prizes, including certificates, mementos and cash awards to the winning students. The ceremony highlighted the college's impressive cultural achievements, including emerging as overall champions in the Zonal Youth Festival and the state-level Ratnavali festival. The college also secured the top position in nine out of 16 events and won a cash prize of Rs. 11,400 in the inter-zonal youth festival. Prof. Ashok Attri, convenor of cultural activities, presented a report detailing these achievements. The ceremony concluded with the felicitation of Prof Rajeev Sharma, who was honoured with a cash award of Rs. 11,000 for his contributions. DCRUST pupils run Savera School
Sonepat: Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology, Murthal, Vice -Chancellor Prof Shri Prakash Singh said they were proud of their ancient culture. Their culture was based on scientific approach and world welfare. Through the mantras in the yagya, the welfare of the entire world was sought. He said 'Idam na mama' which means this is not mine, this is Indian philosophy. Savera School is being run by the brilliant students of DCRUST, Murthal, for children living in the economically weaker areas. University students teach the children free of cost at the school. Students studying in Savera have also been selected in Navodaya Vidyalaya. Apart from this, after studying in Sevara, some students are also pursuing education in the university and at the same time taking forward the tradition of Savera School. At present, 200 children are studying at Savera School. Yagya is organised every week in Savera School. This time the 551st yagya was conducted in Sevara School. This time in the 551st yagya, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Singh, offered the sacrifice as the chief guest. Addressing on this occasion, Prof. Singh said it had been said in the yagya through the mantra that God was the creator of the whole world was endowed with all prosperity and happiness.
KU to host Shiksha Mahakumbh
Kurukshatra: Kurukshetra University is going to host Shiksha Mahakumbh 2024 under the aegis of department of holistic education on 16-17 December at RK Sadan of Kurukshetra University. Department of holistic education was started as a pilot project under Vidya Bharti, Punjab. The department organises Shiksha Mahakumbh to invite dignitaries, stakeholders from diverse fields like academia, bureaucracy, higher and school education, social thinkers, scientists and other experts to have a dialogue on all aspects of education. During a conversation, Conference patron, Vice-Chancellor, Kurukshetra University, Prof Som Nath Sachdeva conveyed his message that Shiksha Mahakumbh 2024 was going to be organised in the form of International Conference on Indian Education System for Global Development in collaboration with various organisations and institutions. Prof Sachdeva further said the objective of the conference was to explore the role of education in addressing sustainable development goals, promoting culture, exchange and mitigating digital divide. Prof Sachdeva added that Shiksha Mahakumbh Abhiyan was a visionary initiative of educational transformation of Bharat through the implementation of NEP 2020. Conference secretary, Director UIET, Prof Sunil Dhingra said the conference comprised of paper presentations, showcase of startups and innovations, exhibitions, students' projects and talent recognition. Deputy Director, Public Relations Department, Dr Jimmy Sharma said conference encompassed diverse sections like engineering, management and international relations, social science, humanities, business, startup, entrepreneurship, technology, gurukul education, physical education, ayurveda, homeopathy, fundamental sciences, environment and water conservation, culture, languages, agriculture and veterinary sciences, school education and education for the disabled.
