JCD Vidyapeeth’s JCDM College of Pharmacy has begun the 63rd National Pharmacy Week with events based on the theme, ‘Think health, think pharmacy’. The event saw active participation from faculty, staff and students of the pharmacy college. JCD Director General Dr Jai Prakash was the chief guest, while the programme was chaired by Dr Rita and Dr Gaurav Khurana. Various sports competitions such as volleyball, chess and carom; and other contests like mehndi, rangoli, cooking and quizzes will be held throughout the week. Dr Jai Prakash emphasised the importance of extracurricular activities, including sports, for students, stating that sports not only aid in physical and mental development but also foster teamwork, confidence and social skills. He encouraged all students to participate in sports to build these qualities. The chief guest was later honoured with a shawl and a memento.

Mukand Lal National College

Yamunanagar: Mukand Lal National College, Radaur, organised an annual festival to commemorate the birthday of Seth Vijay Kumar. Mukand Lal Senior Secondary School, Swaraj Shishu Niketan, Swaraj Public School, and Swaraj Devi Hospital participated in the annual festival. The chairman of the institution, Seth Ashok Kumar, inaugurated the programme, while General Secretary Pt Gian Prakash Sharma and Principal Dr Mala Sharma were also present on the occasion. Hundreds of school and college students presented a wonderful cultural bonanza on Haryanvi, Punjabi, and Rajasthani cultural as well as patriotic songs. Principal Dr Mala Sharma presented the annual report of the institution. Pt Gian Prakash Sharma appreciated students for their unbeatable talents. The chief guest, Ashok Kumar, lauded the institution’s staff for the arrangements.

Guru Nanak Khalsa College

Yamunanagar: Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Yamunanagar, celebrated its 55th Founders Day with great devotion and fervour. The celebrations commenced with the bhog of Shri Akhand Path Sahib, which was followed by Shabad Kirtan session performed by Prof Sunil, students, and various Raagi Jathas, filling the atmosphere with divine harmony and spiritual energy. Sardar Randeep Singh Jauhar, president of the governing body and managing committee, congratulated all members of the college community for their contributions towards making the institution a beacon of knowledge and values. Dr Pratima Sharma, officiating Principal of the college, acknowledged the achievements of both students and faculty members, emphasising the importance of maintaining ideals set by the college’s founders. During the event toppers, student council, outstanding performers of the NSS, NCC, YRC, Women Cell of the college, were honoured recognising their hard work and dedication. In addition, Bipin Kumar, assistant storekeeper, was felicitated for completing 25 years of dedicated service to the college. Sardar Rajinder Singh Bhatti, Vice-President, Sardar Balwant Singh Banga, General Secretary, Sardar Amardeep Singh, Finance Secretary, Dr Peer Ghulam Nabi, Chief Operating Officer, and members of Guru Nanak Khalsa College Alumni Association, Yamunanagar, were also present on the occasion.
