Campus notes: Janmashtami festivities in hostel
Jalandhar: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, a renowned for its cultural celebrations, embraced the spirit of Janmashtami with a vibrant and joyous event. KMV hostel brought together residents and staff for a day filled with devotion and fun. The chief guest for the occasion was Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi. The highlight of the celebration was the matka-breaking competition as the students gathered in the hostel courtyard to form a human pyramid, reminiscent of Lord Krishna’s legendary love for butter and mischief. With a great sense of camaraderie and teamwork, participants attempted to break the matka, echoing the spirit of unity and togetherness. Another exciting part of the event was the gopi dressing activity. Students came dressed as gopis, the playful companions of Lord Krishna. The event left everyone with fond memories and a deeper understanding of the significance of Lord Krishna’s birthday.
Pawandeep excels in GNDU results
Students of BSc (Fashion Designing) Semester II of PCM S.D. College for Women have achieved outstanding results in the GNDU examination. Pawandeep Kaur secured the first position in the university with an SGPA of 8.73 out of 10 (87.50% marks), while Durgesh attained the third position with an SGPA of 8.45 (84.50% marks). President Naresh Budhia, senior vice-president Vinod Dada and Principal Pooja Prashar congratulated the achievers on their performance. They also praised the Department of Fashion Designing for its commitment in nurturing talent and fostering academic success.
Sakshi shines in academics
Sakshi Sharma of MA Hindi Semester 4 of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya got the second position in Guru Nanak Dev University. Sakshi got 1,285 marks out of 1,600 and secured second position. Principal Prof Ajay Sareen congratulated the student. Head of Hindi Department Dr Jyoti Gogia, Asstt Prof Pawan Kumari and Dr Deepti Dhir were also present.
Stuti 2nd in BBA
Students of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar, bagged top positions in university exams conducted by the GNDU. A student of BBA Semester 4 Stuti Kharbanda scored 603 marks out of 750 and bagged the covetous second position in the university. Archa scored 594 marks and Khushi Kohli scored 581 marks out of 750 and bagged fourth and sixth positions in the university, respectively. Principal Neerja Dhingra congratulated the students and their parents and wished them a bright future.
