The investiture ceremony at GNFG School was held to hand over leadership roles to the newly-appointed Students Council. The event began with a warm welcome to the chief guest, Col Maninder Singh Sachdev, who was greeted by Principal Dr Harleen Kaur. Col Sachdev then took centre-stage, where he presented badges to the newly elected Head Boy, Head Girl and other Students Council members. In his inspiring address, Col Sachdev spoke to the students about the true meaning of leadership, emphasising that leadership is not just a title but a responsibility to serve others with humility and courage. Drawing on his vast experience in the Army, he shared stories of resilience, teamwork and the importance of discipline. He encouraged the students to lead by example. The ceremony concluded with the newly appointed student leaders taking a pledge to fulfill their duties with diligence.

Award for initiative

Jalandhar: Disha, an initiative run and managed by Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust running Innocent Hearts Institutions, has got recognition in the Global Summit Teacher Award. The award was conferred for contributions to social welfare by the Jalandhar Management Association, affiliated to the All India Management Association (AIMA), New Delhi. The ceremony was held at Lovely Professional University. The award was presented by Ashok Sethi, MD, Fine Switchgears. Ahsan-ul Haq, president, Jalandhar Management Association and Dr Sorab Lakhanpal, head of Students Affairs, LPU, were present. The Trust has dedicated the award to the hard work of Dr Palak Gupta Bowry.

Sports Day races

Jalandhar: Delhi Public School hosted a sports event for students from Grades 3 to 5. The event kicked off with fun-filled races exclusively for parents, where teamwork and fitness held the key to victory. The parents’ races included a thrilling balloon race and the lively matki race, where participants showcased their coordination and enthusiasm. This was followed by a skipping challenge and a push-up contest. Parents also had the opportunity to dance to a popular Punjabi track, creating an electrifying atmosphere. The young athletes competed in 70m sprint, the 50m sprint, 80m race and 50m hurdle race.
