Campus notes: International days celebrated
BCM School
Ludhiana: BCM School, Chandigarh Road, Foundational Stage celebrated various international days through imaginative activities designed to engage and educate students. On International Day of Peace, nursery students created hand impressions to symbolise dove wings. LKG students adorned dove cutouts with cotton to represent peace, while UKG children crafted cards with thumb impressions in yellow and blue on doves, inscribing ‘World Peace Day’ inside to promote global harmony. For World Rhino Day, nursery students embellished rhino cutouts with glittery horns and vibrant colors, fostering wildlife awareness through interactive art. LKG students crafted hippos using ice cream sticks, enhancing their fine motor skills, and UKG children drew and colored hippos, adding crafted teeth to their illustrations.
Arya College
The NSS unit of Arya College Girls Section organised AIDS awareness programme to sensitise students about the deadly syndrome. Under this, a documentary focused on the symptoms, causes and prevention of HIV/AIDS was screened. Students and staff members took pledge to come forward and raise awareness in society to control this disease. Dr SM Sharma, secretary ACMC, said all should make efforts to eliminate the spread of HIV/AIDS. Incharge Dr Mamta Kohli said the college would strive to conduct a campaign against this fatal condition. The programme was coordinated by NSS programme officer Dr Rajni Bala. TNS
