Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Rohtak observed the 75th Constitution Day with the theme ‘75 Years of Constitution: Promoting Liberty and Growth’. The IIM Rohtak Dean, Dr PR Srivastava, underscored the Constitution’s role in safeguarding justice and freedom. He emphasised liberty is fundamental to growth and urged students to embrace constitutional values, commit to lifelong learning and strive for excellence. The celebration included two panel discussions — Law and Prosperity: Building Economic Growth through a Robust Legal System and The Constitution and Conducive Business Practices.
Indira Gandhi University, Meerpur
Rewari: Dr Pinki, Assistant Professor in the department of commerce at Indira Gandhi University, Meerpur, delivered an inspiring keynote at the international conference on “Resilient Women, Innovative Solutions and Sustainable Environment” at Government College Bhoranj (Tarkwari), Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh. Drawing from Nelson Mandela’s words, “Do not judge me by my successes, judge me by how many times I fell down and got back up again,” Dr Pinki celebrated the resilience of women through historical and contemporary examples of strength and perseverance. She highlighted resilience as the foundation for personal and societal progress.
Central University of Haryana
Mahendergarh: The Central University of Haryana (CUH) launched the Global Young Academician Networking Initiative (GYANI) with a lecture series organised by the department of biotechnology. GYANI aims to foster knowledge-sharing and collaboration among young researchers globally. The vice-chancellor, Prof Tankeshwar Kumar said he supports the initiative and highlighted its potential to connect students with the global scientific community. The event featured a keynote address by Dr Roshan Kumar Yadav, advisor to Nepal’s Ministry of Forestry and Environment. He emphasised the importance of bilateral academic exchanges. So far, 20 researchers from the USA, Canada and Europe have joined the GYANI network, with plans to include 100 young researchers worldwide this year. Meanwhile, The Central University of Haryana concluded its 10-day research workshop. Sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research, the workshop saw 30 participants from across the country exploring various research methodologies and contemporary research areas. The valedictory session featured Prof Pawan Kumar Sharma, Dean of Research at CUH, who emphasised the importance of interdisciplinary research and collaborations in today’s research ecosystem. Prof Ranjan Aneja, Dean of the School of Business and Management Studies, also highlighted the workshop’s contributions to advancing research practices.
Indira Gandhi (PG) Mahila Mahavidyalaya
Kaithal: Indira Gandhi (PG) Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Kaithal, observed the 75th Constitution Day with a programme organised by the department of political science and the electoral club. The chief guest, Ram Bahadur Khurania, the president of the governing body, shared the historical significance of the Constitution, which was adopted by the Constituent Assembly on November 26, 1949. The principal, Dr Aarti Garg emphasised the Constitution is not merely a document but a symbol of the struggles and sacrifices of millions. Students who delivered speeches on the Constitution were honored with prizes. The event also featured talks by faculty members, including Alka Goel, Assistant Professor in Political Science.
RKSD College, Kaithal
Kaithal: RKSD College Kaithal commemorated the 75th Constitution Day with a series of engaging events organised by the department of political science, led by Prof Shri Om. The officiating principal, Satyabir Mehla inaugurated the programme, which included a photo exhibition, book display, poster-making contest and a Preamble writing competition. Over 80 students participated in the activities. Dr RK Gupta, former head of the department of political science, delivered a thought-provoking lecture on the successes and challenges of the Indian Constitution. The event concluded with a recitation of the Preamble and an oath-taking ceremony, followed by an award ceremony for competition winners, fostering a deeper appreciation for the Constitution among students and faculty.
