Hisar: The Cultural Fusion Club and Fine Arts Club of Haryana School of Business (HSB), Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology (GJUST), Hisar, jointly organised ‘ART XPLOSION 2024’, a vibrant celebration of art, culture and creativity. The chief guest, GJUST first lady Dr Vandana Bishnoi, emphasised the importance of Indian culture in teaching modern management, praising the HSB for presenting a fine picture of this integration. Veena Chhokar encouraged students to develop their creative skills, highlighting their essential role in personal growth and soft skill development. HSB Director Prof Vinod Kumar Bishnoi chaired the event and praised the students' enthusiasm and competitive spirit. Prof Karam Pal Narwal, the HSB Dean, highlighted the event's role in promoting cultural awareness and understanding. In the roots and runway competition, Ravina secured the first position, Nitya stood second and Purva secured the third position. In the cold kitchen competition, Ananta, Prajjwal, Vikas, Disha won the first prize; Raghav, Tammana, Sachin and Aditi secured the second; and Vaniksha, Jyoti, Pooja and Poonam secured the third position. In the colour cascade, Vaniksha and Jyoti won the first prize, while Seema and Sonia secured the second prize. In the impression competition, Komal won the first prize, Anachal second and Muskan secure the third prize. In the classroom canvas competition, Business Analytics Final year was declared the winner.

Khalsa college gets Grade A++

Yamunanagar: Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Yamunanagar, has got ‘grade A++’ in the SDG competition organised by Osmania University for its exceptional contribution towards sustainable development goals in the Yamunanagar district. This recognition underscores the college’s commitment to environmental sustainability, social responsibility and national development under the APEX SDG framework. In the pursuit of promoting sustainable development, the college organised a variety of competitions, awareness programmes, skill development activities and initiatives focused on the core principles of sustainability. These activities not only contributed to spreading awareness on global environmental issues, but also actively engaged students and faculty in practical solutions to pressing ecological challenges. Dr Pratima Sharma the officiating Principal highlighted that this recognition is a reflection of the collective efforts and hard work put in by their students, faculty and staff, making a significant contribution towards national development through the SDGs. Randeep Singh Jauhar, president of the governing body and managing committee, said the recognition was a testament to the values of sustainability and social responsibility that the college stands for.

RKSD student bags gold in athletics

Kaithal: Surya Chauhan, a student of BA II year of RKSD College, Kaithal has brought laurels to the college by winning the gold medal in 110m hurdles. This feat was achieved at the 61st Annual Athletics Meet of Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, which was held at Sports Complex Dronacharya Stadium. Principal Sanjay Goyal welcomed Surya and wished him all the best for all his future endeavours. OP Garg, Gurdeep Bhola and Prof Deepak Kandola also congratulated Surya and motivated him to work hard. This achievement reflects the commitment of the college to promote sporting talent.
