Campus notes: Hackathon event at GVM college

In the Hackathon event organised at GVM Girls College, girls’ Team No. 14, comprising Priya, Tamanna, Aarti and Asmita stood first. The competition was organised under the aegis of the computer science, department of GVM. Rakesh Juneja, chief coordinator of the competition and head of the department, said 14 teams took part in the competition. Team No, 13 of BSc in computer science (third year) and Team No. 5 of second year girl students jointly secured the second position while No. 12 of BSc in computer science (second year) bagged the third spot. Head of the institution OP Paruthi and principal Manjula Spah congratulated the winners and wished them a bright future.

Seminar on punjabi literature

Yamunanagar: The department of Punjabi of Guru Nanak Girls College successfully conducted a DGHE-sponsored multi-disciplinary national seminar on ‘Haryane da Punjabi sahit ate Punjabi vich anuvadit sahit’. The seminar was conducted under the guidance of director Varinder Gandhi and principal Harvinder Kaur. The resource persons for the seminar were Prof Ravi Ravinder, Department of Punjabi, Delhi University; Ratan Singh Dhillon, retired associate professor, SD College, Ambala; and Kuldeep Singh, chairperson, Department of Punjabi, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra. The seminar featured insightful discussions on the contributions of Haryana to Punjabi literature as well as the significance of translated works in broadening the scope of Punjabi literary discourse.
