Campus notes: Guru Nanak International Public school
Ludhiana: Guru Nanak International Public School hosted a meeting of principals and coordinators from private and aided schools of Ludhiana Block 2. The meeting focused on the upcoming Competency Enhancement Plan and Parakh National Survey 2024. The session was designed to review the objectives of the former, which seeks to foster holistic student development and to give guidelines for the latter.
Nankana Sahib Public School
Creative hands of a budding artist of Nankana Sahib Public School succeeded in winning her the third prize in the painting competition organised by Ludhiana Sahodaya Schools Complex. Damneet Kaur, a student of Class XI (PCB) participated in the inter-school painting competition held at HVM Convent School. Her painting was on “Indian History and Heritage”. Proving their mettle once again the kabaddi players of the school performed well in the kabaddi tournament organised by Ludhiana Sahodaya Schools Complex. The U-19 boys team scored the third position in the interschool kabaddi tourney held at Nankana Sahib Public School, Kila Raipur.
DAV Public School
Sidakveer Singh and Ekampreet of Class VIII of DAV Public School, Pakhowal road, added to the history of school’s achievements with their performance at CBSE Regional Science Exhibition 2024-2025, held on November 8-9 at Nankana Sahib Public School, Ludhiana. They received accolades from the judges for their innovative project, ‘Bovine Sanitarium,’ based on the theme ‘Mathematical Modelling and Computational Thinking,’ in the junior category. Their exceptional project showcasing a blend of scientific inquiry and inventive thinking earned them a spot at the national level of the CBSE Science Exhibition.
Shamrock Christian Sr sec school
Mishika Mehra of Class V at the Shamrock Christian Senior Secondary School participated in a PSEB state-level tournament in various swimming events held at Mohali. Mishika bought laurels to the school by clinching golds in the 4x 50m relay and 4x50m freestyle relay. She also bagged the fourth position in the state for 200m individual medley.
Guru Nanak Public School
Guru Nanak Public School celebrated Gurpurb with devotion and enthusiasm, commemorating the 555th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev. Lakha Singh, head, Nanaksar, Kaleran, was the chief guest. The day began with notes of kirtan by Gursewak Singh Riar. The soulful rendition of Shabad Gayan by students created an atmosphere of spiritual warmth. Through powerful recitations of poems and stirring speeches, students honoured the legacy of Baba Nanak by embracing and promoting his timeless message of equality, unity and universal brotherhood for all. Students and teachers recited the Japji 30,274 times to help people touch the deepest essence of individual consciousness, elevating one to the universal consciousness. Besides, 384 students enthusiastically took part in the Kanth Bani. Brahmbir Singh of Class IX has learnt and recited 100 banis and Hargunpreet Singh of Class XI has learnt and recited 101 banis.
BCM COllege of education
The social science club of BCM College of Education observed the vigilance awareness week from November 5 -11 on the theme ‘culture of integrity and prosperity for the nation’. The week commenced with the integrity pledge. Agile BCMites presented informative PowerPoint presentations on vigilance awareness. Students displayed their literary skills by writing articles on the culture of integrity. The college was buzzing with enthusiasm and zeal as students prepared slogans to celebrate vigilance awareness. These slogans were later displayed in an exhibition.
