Sirsa: The 11th Triveni Youth Festival at Chaudhary Devi Lal University is showcasing the rich heritage of Indian culture and art. During Stage-II, three teams staged plays based on Indian traditions and history. Notable performances included ‘Urubhangam’, a play depicting the final days of the Mahabharata war between Pandavas and Kauravas, and ‘Nagamandala’, a tale centered around the marriage of a 16-year-old princess. These dramas brought ancient Indian stories and social messages to life with impactful storytelling. The festival, spanning five stages, offers young talents a unique platform to showcase their skills.

Special address on Juvenile Justice Act at ROHTAK VARSITY

Rohtak: The effective implementation of the Juvenile Justice Act in India is the need of the hour. There is a need for proactive enforcement of the Act at the ground level. Advocate of Punjab and Haryana High Court Vineet Kumar urged law students to be the ‘Voice of the Voiceless’. He was delivering a special address on ‘Juvenile Justice: From Theory to Practice’ in Department of Law of Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU). He said that the delay in justice in the matter of juveniles was travesty of justice. He urged students to visit District Juvenile Justice Boards, conduct ground study and do research on the matter. He called for reintegration of juveniles in the social mainstream of society and nation. Earlier, Head of Dept of Law Dr Jitender Dhull delivered the welcome address. He said this lecture on a topic of contemporary importance would immensely benefit the students.

NCC Cadets complete military training at camp

Kaithal: A group of 75 NCC cadets of 4/10 Company and 5/10 Company of RKSD College, Kaithal, successfully completed military training at a camp organised by 10 Haryana Battalion, Kurukshetra, at Arunai, Pehowa. In the camp, cadets received training about various military activities and were engaged in various activities like morning parade, drill parade, theory classes, sports activities, cultural activities etc. The classes covered various subjects of NCC ‘A’ and ‘B’ certificates. Lectures by experts on various subjects like waste management, firefighting and leadership skills were also organised during the camp. In the senior wing, Sneha of 4/10 Company secured the first position in the 1.6-km race and Aarti of 5/10 Company secured the second position. Siya, Simran, Latita and Ritu of 5/10 Company secured the second position in the group dance competition. Sanju of NCC 4/10 Company secured the second position in the solo dance competition. Prof Ritu Walia of 4/10 Company of the college accompanied the cadets to the camp and guided them throughout. Principal Sanjay Goyal appreciated the excellent achievements of the cadets during the camp and wished them a successful future ahead.
