Campus notes: CT Institutions
Jalandhar: CT Group celebrated the 555th Prakash Purb of Guru Nanak Dev with heartfelt devotion and gratitude across its campuses, embracing the theme of ‘Sarbat da bhala’ (welfare of all). The commemorations spanned across CT Group’s north and south campuses, CT World School, CT Public School and CT University bringing together students, faculty, and authorities in a united spirit of reverence. Various ‘sewas’ were organised, including the planting of 555 trees, a 555 ‘Dastar sajna’ (turban tying) competition, kirtan, a 555 ‘path sewa’ and a luminous ‘deep mala’ with 555 diyas illuminating each campus. The event symbolised unity and served as a platform for students to connect with the values of compassion, humility and selfless service that Guru Nanak epitomised. Vice-Chairman of CT Group Harpreet Singh said, “It is a profound honour to observe the Prakash Purb of Guru Nanak across our campuses.” Manbir Singh, Managing Director of CT Group, said, “Our tribute to guru’s legacy through acts of service and unity reinforces the values that guide our institution.”
Police DAV Public School
Jalandhar: Guru Nanak Prakash Utsav was celebrated at Police DAV Public School, PAP campus, Jalandhar Cant. Students in the primary wing were given information about the life of Sri Guru Nanak and the ‘bani’ composed by him. The meaning of the ‘mool mantra’ was explained to the children followed by a ‘shabad’ and a poem devoted to Guru Nanak. Siropa was also given to principal Rashmi Vij. She acquainted the children with the teachings of Guru Nanak and how we can become righteous individuals by following his teachings. The programme was coordinated by the Department of Punjabi under the guidance of superviser Gargi Sharma and coordinators Rashmi Bhalla, Amita Rathore and Kavita. The stage was conducted by Harpreet Mann.
Ivy World School
Jalandhar: Ivy World School organised ‘Sri Sukhmani Sahib path’ with deep devotion and reverence. The ‘path’ was followed by a soul-stirring kirtan session and concluded with the serving of ‘langar’. The school premises were beautifully decorated with fresh flowers and traditional adornments, creating an atmosphere of peace and spirituality. Over 3,000 devotees bowed before Guru Granth Sahib, and the shabad kirtan by students and prayers invoked a profound sense of unity and shared purpose. CEO Raghav Vasal emphasised that such events played a vital role in connecting students with cultural heritage and spiritual teachings.
Nobel School
Jalandhar: The Prakash Utsav of Guru Nanak Dev was celebrated with great pomp in the courtyard of The Nobel School. The programme started with the recitation of ‘Japji Sahib’. The school students sang shabad, recited poems and gave the message of brotherhood to all students. Schoolteacher Meena delivered speech on teachings of Guru Nanak and encouraged the students to follow his path of truth, love and oneness of God. Apart from this, ‘shabad gyan’ was performed by schoolteachers Parminder and Rekha. School director Saroj Sharma, principal Ravinder Kaur and other teachers were present on the auspicious occasion. Sharma gave the message to all students to follow the principles and teachings of the Gurus and inspired them to adopt the sentiments such as ‘kirat karo’, ‘naam japo’ and ‘vand chhako’ in life. During this, school principal Ravinder Kaur congratulated all teachers and children on the Guru Parv. At the conclusion of the programme, prayers were offered for the bright future of the children and ‘prasad’ was distributed to them.
New St Soldier Sen Sec Public School
Jalandhar: A programme was organised on the Prakash Utsav of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji at New St Soldier Senior Secondary Public School, Guru Teg Bahadur Nagar, Jalandhar. The students sang the words and gave information about the great thoughts of Guru Nanak in their speech. School director Sushma Handa asked them to take inspiration from the life of Guru Nanak Dev and adopt his ideals in their life.
