Campus notes: Brochure on capacity-building programme released
Mahendergarh: Prof Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice-Chancellor of Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh, released the brochure for the capacity-building programme scheduled to be held from December 23 to January 4. The 12-day programme for social science faculty members is sponsored by the ICSSR, New Delhi and organised by the department of psychology, Central University of Haryana. The course is open to faculty members from higher education institutes across the country. Kumar said the training programme would upskill faculty members from social science to conduct quality research in the fields of humanities and social sciences, instilling essential basic to advanced skills for conducting independent research. The course director, Prof Payal Kanwar Chandel, stated that registration for the 12-day course will begin on November 4. Interested participants may visit the link available on the university website, www.cuh.ac.in, for the registration process. Dr Vishnu Narayan Kucheria, course co-director, said the programme was being organised for the faculty members of humanities and social sciences and open for 30 participants.
International conference at hisar varsity from Nov 7
Hisar: The department of physics, Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology (GJUST), Hisar, is organising an International Conference on Emerging Materials and Quantum Photonics (ICEMQP-2024) from November 7 to 9. One-day pre-conference workshop entitled, “Predictive modeling in materials science using artificial intelligence and machine learning” will also be organised on November 6. The workshop and ICEMQP-2024 are sponsored by SERB and BRNS (Science & Engineering Research Board and Board of Research and Nuclear Sciences). Prof Narsi Ram Bishnoi, Vice-Chancellor of the university, said, “We are excited to bring together such a diverse group of experts in emerging materials and quantum photonics. The conference will not only advance understanding of these critical areas but also inspire new ideas and applications that can shape the future of technology. At the event, leading researchers, industry experts and students from around the globe, will gather to explore the forefront of materials science and photonic technology. Prof Ashish Aggarwal, chairperson, department of physics said, “As we navigate the rapidly evolving landscape of quantum technology,
the conference aims at fostering collaboration and innovation among attendees.”
