Campus notes: Apeejay School
Jalandhar: Apeejay School Model United Nations (ASMUN) 5.0 concluded on the third day at Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg. The event witnessed quality debates, discussions and negotiations on global issues. The committee session was followed by a grand closing ceremony which marked the culmination of ASMUN. The ceremony was attended by nearly 500 delegates, guests and teachers from 23 different schools. The event was graced by Sucharita Sharma, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Apeejay Stya University and Sangeeta Nistandra, Principal, Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg. Hasan Abdal Singh Sharma, Amritpal, Khwaish, Manisha Jain, Rehman Singh, Anahita, Saksham, Ramanpreet Singh, Aakshi Kapil, Vaisala Dhall, Ananya Sharma and Divyansh Sharma won the Best Delegate awards.
STS World School
Jalandhar: Students of classes III to XII celebrated ‘Science Week’ on the campus of STS World School. Day 1 was dedicated to the evolution of science and stem. Students embarked on a fascinating journey through the history of science as educators showed them a video about the latest advancements in Microsoft STEM. The educators also guided the students about Microsoft STEM courses and resources. Principal Prabhjot Gill urged the students to participate in more such activities to gain knowledge and to explore new advancements in science and technology.
Lyallpur Khalsa College
Jalandhar: Lyallpur Khalsa College (LKC), along with Punjab State AIDS Control Society and Directorate of Youth Services, organised a state-level 5 km ‘Red Run Marathon’ in Ludhiana. Shamsher Singh of BA (Semester V), a Red Ribbon Club (RRC) member of LKC, won the event. Principal Jaspal Singh felicitated the winner and motivated him to do better at the next level. He further added that these mega events were crucial to spread awareness about deadly viruses like HIV/AIDS. Prof Satpal Singh, Coordinator of LKC, RRC, said Shamsher had won the first position at the district and state levels and won cash prizes at both levels. Next, he would compete at the national level, he said. The state level competition saw more than 200 athletes from Punjab. Moreover, in the girls category, Anchal (BA) of RRC LKC won the seventh position in the state level marathon.
CT World School
Jalandhar: CT World School celebrated Navratri with a lively ‘dandiya night’, attracting over 500 participants to enjoy music, dance and delicious food. The event was a display of cultural heritage, bringing together students, families and community members for an unforgettable evening of festivities. Participants donned colorful attires and enjoyed dancing together. The event featured dance sessions led by Rajan Syal, founder of Parindey. CT Group chairman Charanjit Singh, co-chairperson Parminder Kaur, managing director Manbir Singh, and vice-chairman Harpreet Singh were present at the event.
Shiv Jyoti Public School
Jalandhar: Girls of Shiv Jyoti Public School performed well at the Kabbadi U-17 event of Punjab School Games held at MGN Public School, Adarsh Nagar. The students bagged the first position in Zone-IV Kabbadi (national style). The whole team was selected for the inter-zone district level games. Principal Parveen Saili applauded the students for their efforts and congratulated their parents.
