Campus notes: Annual IT Utsav-2024
Spring Dale Senior School organised its inter-school annual IT Utsav-2024, which saw a zestful participation of around 58 participants from 11 schools across the district. Experts from NIIT accompanied by the IT faculty of Spring Dale witnessed a nail-biting competition of students from different schools while they exhibited their tech skills. The event saw competitions like Scratch, PowerPoint presentation, Photoshop, web page development, coding and quiz. The team from Cambridge School, Amritsar, was the winner in the category ‘Debug the Soul’, Stalwarts World School, Amritsar, was the winner in the category ‘Unveiled Visions’, Modern High School, Amritsar won in the category ‘Be concise’. Guru Nanak Dev Global Academy, Amritsar, won in the category ‘Game of Code’ and the team from Bharatiya Vidya Bhawan SL Public School, Amritsar won in the ‘Quizaholic’ category. Sahiljit Singh Sandhu, Chairman, Spring Dale Educational Society, said that IT Utsav is an annual feature of the school which is organised as a step forward to bring the young tech-enthusiasts in sync with the latest trends in the field of Information and Communications Technology (ICT).
Institute Management Committee
Keeping in view the Punjab government’s emphasis on technical education and aiming for better training and placement of students at Government ITI, Ranjit Avenue, Amritsar, the Punjab government has formed the Institute Management Committee (IMC). Prominent industrialists of the city have been appointed as the chairman and members of the committee. A meeting was convened under the chairmanship of Lavtesh Singh Sachdeva, owner of Novelty Group. Other esteemed members participated in the meeting, including Rakesh Kumar, Director, Gauri Shankar, Omkar Singh, Priyanka Goel, Managing Director, Gobind Yarn Industry, Akshay Bansal, Managing Director, Bansal Sweets and Bakers. Dr Rajni Dogra. IMC member-secretary and principal of the institution, Sanjeev Sharma, along with the entire staff, welcomed the members and gave them a tour of the institute. During the meeting, the chairman and members assured that as per the responsibilities entrusted to them by the Punjab government, they would work towards enhancing the future prospects of the institute’s students by providing them with advanced training opportunities in their industries and the city’s other industrial establishments.
