Campus notes: Stage show at Iy World School
Ivy World School enraptured the audience with a stage show on the theme ‘Chanakya – The Kingmaker’. The event celebrated the life and teachings of the legendary philosopher and strategist, Chanakya, whose profound wisdom and leadership shaped the history of ancient India. The show was a perfect blend of theatrical excellence and cultural expression, brought to life through captivating performances, including engaging plays, stunning dances and a thought-provoking narrative. Students participated enthusiastically, portraying the timeless values of leadership, perseverance and intellectual brilliance embodied by Chanakya. CEO Raghav Vasal lauded the students for their efforts.
Sports meet at Guru Amar Dass school
A two-day sports meet was held at Guru Amar Dass Public School, Model Town. President Mohinderjit Singh attended the event along with the managing committee members. The meet was opened by releasing colourful balloons. The students displayed their spirit in volleyball, taekwondo, tug-of-war, long jump and shot-put, and made the name of their respective Houses shine. Prizes were also distributed to the academic winners of the session 2023-2024. Students enjoyed yoga, 100m race, relay race, tug-of-war (final), teachers’ matka and lemon race. Apart from this, Bhangra was also presented. Baba Mohri House was declared the winner for the Running Trophy while Bibi Dani House took the Runners-Up Trophy.
Junior Kho-Kho Championship
Emm Aar International School, Adampur, hosted the state-level Junior Kho-Kho Championship. The two-day event was organised by the District Kho-Kho Association in collaboration with Sir Shashi Kumar Sharma Memorial Society, under the aegis of the Punjab Kho-Kho Association. The championship was inaugurated by Abdul Bari Salmani (Chairman, Punjab State Commission for Minorities), Jit Lal Bhatti (Halqa In-charge, Adampur, Director Punbus, Punjab), Gurdev Singh Kamboj and Gaurav Puri (district treasurer, Aam Aadmi Party, Jalandhar and Director, Dental Council, Punjab). The event began with a warm welcome by the NCC air wing cadets of Emm Aar International School, who performed a spectacular parade, followed by a vibrant Bhangra performance, and a melodious group song by the students.
