Yamunanagar: The Department of Community College at Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Yamunanagar, celebrated its 10th anniversary with great enthusiasm. The event was marked by an expert talk on ‘Modern Techniques of Retailing’ by Dr Mahabir Narwal, Chairperson of the Department of Commerce, Kurukshetra University. The session focused on the evolving dynamics of retail, providing the students with a comprehensive understanding of the industry's modern techniques. Principal Harinder Singh Kang, Community College founder RS Walia and Nodal Officer Sanjay Arora, graced the event with their presence. Governing Body and Managing Committee president Randeep Singh Jauhar congratulated the college for its 10 years of excellence, stating that such initiatives strengthen the institution’s academic fabric and enhance employability skills among students.

Lecture on emerging technologies

Yamunanagar: An insightful lecture on ‘Emerging Technologies’ was delivered at Seth jai Parkash Polytechnic, Damla, by Varun Goel, HR Head of Zscaler Technologies, Gurugram, for the students of computer engineering. The event was organised under the guidance of Amandeep Singh, Training and Placement Officer (TPO), and witnessed participation from students keen on understanding the latest trends in the technology sector. The lecture focused on cutting-edge developments in cloud computing, artificial intelligence, cyber security and the evolving role of big data in shaping the future of the tech industry. Head of the Department Karanbir Singh, Rohit Mandhar and other staff members, were present during the session. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Principal Anil Kumar.

Workshop on Women's Rights

Karnal: Dyal Singh College hosted three insightful extension lectures on “Sexual Harassment and Women's Rights for Youth”, organised under the joint auspices of the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) and the Women Development Centre. The objective of the event was to raise awareness among students and promote safety of women. The programme commenced with a welcome address by the college Principal Ashima Gakhar. She welcomed all attendees and highlighted the pressing concern of women's safety in contemporary society, underscoring the necessity for such workshops to mitigate rates of sexual harassment through increased awareness. Three speakers shared their insights on the topic. ASI Namana Ahlawat from Karnal Crime Branch, Child Welfare Committee Chairperson Umesh Chandna and Assistant Block Resource Coordinator Isha Chaudhary provided an in-depth discussion on the legal aspects of women's safety, empowerment and protection under various laws.
