Patiala rural: Campaigning ends, over to voters now
Patiala, February 18
Candidates contesting from the Patiala Rural seat held their last roadshow and public meetings today. Some candidates chose to end the campaigning on a high note, while others kept it low profile.
Aam Aadmi Party candidate Dr Balbir Singh organised a two-wheeler rally in his constituency. Standing in a sunroof of his Land Rover car, he threw flower petals at passersby. Dr Singh said, “The broom is sweeping the Patiala rural constituency.”
PLC’s Bittu takes out padyatra
PLC candidate Sanjeev Sharma Bittu took out a padyatra from Kohli Sweets in Tripuri to Kashmiriyan Gurdwara. He was joined by Member Parliament Preneet Kaur and a number of Congress leaders. Sanjeev Sharma said, “Over 4,000 persons participated in the padyatra. People from all walks of life are supporting our party candidates.”
SAD-BSP candidate Jaspal holds public rally
SAD-BSP alliance candidate Jaspal Singh Bittu Chatha like his previous meetings organised a public rally in Tripuri today as well. He was joined by a small group of people, who also offered him garlands. He later went to the Patiala Bar Association and met advocates.
Mohit holds roadshow with father Brahm Mohindra
Congress candidate from Patiala Rural constituency Mohit Mohindra today held a roadshow to put up a last-ditch attempt on the final day of campaigning for the upcoming Assembly election on February 20.
Mohit was accompanied by his father Brahm Mohindra, who is a Cabinet Minister and a sitting MLA from the constituency. Besides, Mohit’s brother and mother also joined him in the roadshow. Mohit kicked off his roadshow in a high SUV Jeep Wrangler Rubicon from Bhadson Road. The roadshow passed through Seona village, Deep Nagar, Anand Nagar, Factory area, Tafzalpur, Gurbaskh Colony, Guru Nanak Nagar and some part of Jujhar Nagar. —
