Manufacturing activities decelerated in October as new orders increased at the slowest pace in a year, a monthly survey said on Wednesday. The S&P Global India Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) slipped from 57.5 in September to 55.5 in October, the slowest rate of expansion since February.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
