Gurugram, July 19

A 32-year-old man was allegedly murdered, and his body was set on fire. The victim’s burnt body was found in the gallery on the ground floor of a newly constructed house in Sector 15 Part 1 in the wee hours on Friday.

The police said the deceased’s brother-in-law, whom he had come to meet here on Thursday night, was a suspect in the case. An FIR has been registered at the Civil Lines police station.

According to the police, the deceased was identified as Gorelal (alias Halla), a native of Chhatarpur in Madhya Pradesh, who used to work as a mason. His brother-in-law Rajesh was working as watchman at the newly constructed house in Sector 15.

In the wee hours on Friday, the police got information that a burnt body was lying inside the house. A police team reached the spot and the body was sent to the mortuary.

A man purportedly told the police about the deceased’s identity. It is alleged that Gorelal and other associates had come to meet Rajesh on Thursday night. All of them drank alcohol together at night, but the watchman Rajesh was found missing this morning.

“Rajesh called me and asked me to go to the house’s gallery. I saw Gorelal’s burnt body lying there, and informed the police,” the complainant told the police. Following the complaint, an FIR was registered in the murder case at the Civil Lines police station.

“Rajesh, who is at large, is the main suspect in the case. We have formed a special team for the manhunt, and the suspect will be arrested soon,” said Inspector Arvind Kumar, SHO of the Civil Lines police station.
