BSF seizes 1.6 kg of heroin in two cases
The Border Security Force (BSF) has seized 1.6 kg of heroin in two separate instances in Tarn Taran and Amritsar border belt here.
Two packets containing 1.14 kg of the contraband dropped by drones were recovered from near Naushehra Dhalla village in Tarn Taran here on Sunday night while another packet containing 545 gm of the contraband was seized from Dhanoe Kalan village in Amritsar this afternoon.
The packets seized from Tarn Taran were wrapped in yellow colour adhesive tape secured with black tape. He said an iron improvised ring and two illuminating sticks were also found attached to each packet hinting that it was dropped by a drone. Similarly, narcotics were wrapped in yellow adhesive tape along with one improvised wire ring and three illuminating sticks were also found attached to the packet seized in Amritsar. He said BSF troops have thwarted yet another attempt of smuggling of narcotics consignment from across the border.
