BSF nabs smuggler with drug money, pistol from Ajnala village
The Border Security Force (BSF), in a joint operation with Special Task Force (STF), nabbed a cross-border drug peddler from Dalla Mallian village in Ajnala sub-division here today. The BSF seized Rs 5 lakh of drug money, along with a China-made .30 bore pistol, a magazine with 3 live rounds and a bike.
BSF authorities said the operation was carried out following intelligence-based inputs gathered through meticulous analysis of drone movement.
“A raid was conducted today in a suspected house at Dalla Mallian village, leading to the arrest of an Indian narcotics smuggler. He was a resident of Khemkaran in Tarn Taran district,” said a BSF spokesman. He was allegedly involved in smuggling activities using drones in the border areas, the spokesman said.
He was handed over to the police for further questioning to find out his linkages in Pakistan as well as on this side of the border, he added.
