His relative Inderjeet said there was no ambulance to take Madan to Kullu. “The biggest problem is that vehicular movement is not allowed via the Rohtang tunnel these days because of the construction work.” The Rohtang Pass, the gateway to Lahaul on the Manali-Leh highway, is already blocked.
“We thought of seeking help from Purushothaman, who gave us his personal vehicle to ferry the patient via the tunnel to Kullu. The BRO official is a saviour,” he said. Later, Madan was referred to the PGI, Chandigarh, where a surgery was performed today. His condition is stated to be stable. “We are extremely thankful to the BRO official for his great deed,” Inderjeet said.
