The district court has sentenced a woman and her paramour to life term after being convicted in the murder of her husband and father-in-law in May 2018. The court has also imposed a fine of Rs 33,000 on the convicts. According to the prosecution, the accused, identified as Pooja and her friend Ajay, had killed Vinay (25) and his father Siya Ram (65) on May 30, 2018. Hailing from Noorpur village of Bareilly district of UP, the duo had shifted here after the marriage of Vinay with Pooja in 2011.

Seminar on raga and tala

New Delhi: The Faculty of Music and Fine Arts at Delhi University hosted a two-day national seminar on ‘Artistic Presentation of Raga and Tala in Various Classical Forms of Indian Music’ on November 21-22. Inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor Prof Yogesh Singh, the seminar highlighted the role of performing arts in society and the use of technology in music.
