Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Monday announced the appointment of Omkar Salvi as the IPL franchise’s bowling coach, a reward for guiding Mumbai to Ranji Tropy and Irani Trophy titles last season. A well-known name on the domestic circuit, Omkar has in the past worked as assistant coach with Kolkata Knight Riders.”Omkar Salvi, current Head Coach of Mumbai, has been appointed as RCB’s Bowling Coach,” the franchise tweeted.

Santosh Trophy 2024: West Bengal thrash UP 7-0

Striker Robi Hansda was on song as hosts West Bengal routed Uttar Pradesh 7-0 in Group C qualifiers of the 78th National Football Championship for the Santosh Trophy at the Kalyani Stadium here on Monday. India name 20-member team for men’s Junior Asia Cup

Defender Amir Ali will lead a 20-member Indian squad in the men’s Junior Asia Cup hockey tournament starting in Muscat from November 26. India have won this tournament for a record four times, including 2004, 2008, 2015 and 2023. They beat nemesis Pakistan 2-1 in the final last year to lift the title. This year, the event will have 10 teams from the continent divided into two pools with India, Chinese Taipei, Japan, Korea and Thailand clubbed in pool A.
