Maharaj helps SA secure 10th successive series win over WI

South Africa bowled out West Indies for 222 to secure a 40-run victory on Day 3 of the second Test after Keshav Maharaj wrapped up the win with his fifth wicket of the match. It was South Africa’s 10th consecutive Test series win against West Indies and was highlighted by Maharaj becoming South Africa’s most successful spinner in Tests with 171 wickets after taking his series tally to 13 when he had Jayden Seales out for the final wicket. That overshadowed a six-wicket haul by Seales in South Africa’s second innings as the tourists were dismissed for 246 after resuming on 223/5. West Indies were in big trouble on 104/6 before Gudakesh Motie and Joshua Da Silva put together a 77-run stand to give the hosts hope of a victory. But Maharaj accounted for them both and then surpassed Hugh Tayfield as South Africa’s most successful spinner. AP
