Bridge construction work begins

Haryana Assembly Speaker Gian Chand Gupta today inaugurated the construction work of a bridge connecting Sector 20 and 21 with trans-Ghaggar sectors.
Gian Chand Gupta said problems of people living in trans-Ghaggar sectors would be solved with the construction of the bridge. He said that the width of the bridge would be 16 metres.
The work of the construction of the bridge has been allotted to the RS Infra Build Company for Rs 60 crore.
Gupta said with the construction of the new bridge, distance between trans-ghaggar sectors and Sectors 20 and 21 would be reduced by about 4 to 7 km. He said at present, there was no bridge connecting Sectors 24 to 28 with Sector 20.
Recently, the Punjab Forest Department had transferred half an acre required for the project to Panchkula.
Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had laid the foundation of the project on September 12, 2019.
