The Mines and Geology Department, Yamunanagar, has seized illegal stacks of boulders at Tajewala village, situated on the bank of the Yamuna in the district.

The department also found 105 trailers of boulders among the stacks on panchayat land.

Taking swift action, District Mining Officer Niranjan Lal sent a complaint to SHO, Pratap Nagar police station, for registration of an FIR against identified persons.

According to information, the department received information that boulders were being stolen by carrying out illegal mining in the area, and the boulders were being stacked on the panchayat land.

On the directions of the District Mining Officer, the field staff of the department had visited the spot on October 28 and found illegal boulders at five places on the panchayat land.

“The team also found 105 trailers of illegal boulders at Tajewala,” said Mining Inspector Rohit Singh. Boulders are used in construction work and fetch good prices.
