Rohtak Zila Parishad chairperson Manju Hooda, against whom an FIR was registered in connection with the alleged kidnap of the son of a woman member of the parishad on Monday, will face a no-confidence motion at the House meeting on Wednesday.

Manju was booked in the case along with her husband Rajesh, alias Sarkari, a former gangster, and some unknown persons. Zila Parishad member Neelam Khatri, whose son was kidnapped and later released yesterday, had alleged that the kidnappers had threatened to kill her son if she supported the no-confidence motion against the chairperson.

However, both Manju and Rajesh have refuted the allegation, stating that it was baseless and aimed at tarnishing the former’s image.

On the other hand, district police spokesman Sunny Laura maintained that several teams, including CIA staff members, had been dispatched to arrest the alleged kidnappers.

Manju had also contested the recent Assembly election as the BJP candidate against former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda from Garhi Sampla-Kiloi constituency in Rohtak district.

Meanwhile, in a statement issued here today, the chairperson pointed out that five members of the parishad, including the vice-chairman, had been debarred from attending tomorrow’s meeting as per orders passed on July 26. These members include Anil Kumar, Amit Kumar, Dheeraj Malik, Sonu and Deepika.
