Blood donation camp on death anniversary of J-K martyr Col Manpreet Singh

To commemorate the supreme sacrifice of Col Manpreet Singh, on his first death anniversary, the District Red Cross Society, Mohali, organised a blood donation camp at his ancestral village Bharonjian near New Chandigarh, on Friday.

Col Manpreet Singh was killed in action while leading from the front in an anti-terror operation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag last September and was awarded the Kirti Chakra posthumously.

The blood donation camp was assisted by the Vishwas Foundation while the blood transfusion teams from Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, Chandigarh, and the Department of Transfusion Medicine from Sri Guru Harkrishan Sahib Charitable Eye Hospital Trust, Sohana, collected 73 units of blood during the camp.

MP Malvinder Singh Kang and Deputy Commissioner-cum-President of the District Red Cross Society, Aashika Jain along with SDM Gurmander Singh handed over certificates to blood donors at the camp.
