Former Haryana minister and BJP candidate from Rohtak, Manish Kumar Grover, has promised that an electric vehicle (EV) park will be developed in Rohtak to manufacture the components of electric vehicles.

“A civil services coaching centre will also be established with free coaching and accommodation for OBC, SC and EWS students,” he said, adding that a skill-development college would also be set up in the city.

He said the Civil Hospital would be upgraded with addition of 100 beds and provision of CT- scan, MRI and cardiology facilities. The BJP leader promised the construction of a women chaupal in every village and seva kendras for the senior citizens.

“A district command control centre called “Drishti Kendra” will be established in Rohtak to ensure better coordination and delivery of government services,” said Grover, maintaining that all these promises would be fulfilled after the formation of a BJP government for the third time in the state.

On the other hand, Rohtak MLA and Congress candidate Bharat Bhushan Batra said after coming to power, the Congress government would carry out micro-management to improve the condition of the city and ensure the provision of basic amenities to residents.

“First of all, residents of the city need clean drinking water, good sewerage system and smooth roads, which will be our top priorities,” asserted Batra. The Congress candidate, who was on a door-to-door campaign, also held public meetings in different parts of the city.

“Neither the policies, nor the intention of the BJP regime were right, due to which the condition of Rohtak deteriorated in the last decade,” he alleged.

The MLA said they would rebuild Rohtak upon the formation of a Congress government in the state.

“There is no corner of the city where people are not forced to drink dirty water. Roads are badly damaged and the sewerage system is also in poor shape,” Batra lamented, adding that he had repeatedly raised these concerns at the state Assembly, but to no avail.

Remarking that the BJP had taken revenge from Rohtak residents (for defeating the ruling party’s candidate in the last Assembly elections), the Congress MLA promised that they would rebuild Rohtak and make the city more beautiful than Panchkula.
