BJP’s Grewal flays leadership over ignoring real cadre
Senior BJP leader Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal has said the BJP in Punjab is being run by Congress leaders, who just joined the BJP while the taksali cadre of the party was being ignored.
Talking to mediapersons here today, he raised his voice in support of the taksali BJP workers who were sidelined.
Grewal alleged that the ‘Congressification’ of the BJP was being witnessed as recently entered Congress leaders were calling the shots.
He asked the BJP leadership to remember veteran leaders like Madan Mohan Mittal, Prof Lakshmi Kanta Chawla, Master Mohan Lal, Avinash Rai Khanna, Tikshan Sud, Manoranjan Kalia, Harjeet Singh Grewal, Surjit Kumar Jyani and many more who worked hard and faced the terrorism era in Punjab, but now they were cornered.
Grewal said Mittal was asked to take control of the Punjab BJP when no body dared to come outside from his house during terrorism.
He said the BJP high command should prefer the real cadre to these leaders.
When asked about controversy arisen after the statement of Bollywood actor-cum-BJP MP Kangana Ranaut, Grewal said the BJP should not allot party ticket to those who did not know the discipline.
Replying a question about any possible disciplinary action against him, Grewal said it’s up to the high command to accept the truth. Commenting upon farmers protest, Grewal said the Centre should realise the problems of farmers as their kids were serving the Army on the borders. He said the high command should realise the truth and save the BJP from the clutches of the former Congress leaders.
