After Haryana, the BJP will also sweep the upcoming Assembly elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand, BJP national president JP Nadda said here on Friday.

Nadda, who paid obeisance at Shri Naina Devi temple here and performed ‘Kanjak pujan’, said that people were happy with the performance of the BJP government at the Centre led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Nadda, while talking to reporters, said that the BJP had achieved a lot in Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir and the credit for this goes to people and God. The Union Health Minister was here to offer prayers after the party’s victory in the Assembly elections. “The party will also sweep the Assembly elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand,” he claimed.

Later, while addressing party workers, he said that in Haryana, an illusion was created. “The ground reality was different but a contrary environment was created. However, the BJP won the Haryana poll and its vote share also increased in Jammu and Kashmir.

The people of Haryana —youth, farmers and women — gave a befitting reply to the opposition parties and made it clear that they believed in the policies and leadership of the Prime Minister, he added.

He said, “From six to eight per cent voting in Jammu and Kashmir to over 60 per cent polling shows that people believe in democracy and support the scrapping of Article 370.”

Nadda said that today, terrorism was under control, as the BJP’s rule was not to just about sitting in power but to make the country safe.

About development works done in Himachal during the BJP regime, Nadda said, “Every brick you see here is of the BJP’s time. I have seen a time when people used to wake up at 4 am for water and wait for hours with buckets but today there are taps in every house.”

He added, “Villages have been connected with roads. The BJP means development while the Congress is synonymous with divide and rule and vote bank politics.”
