BJP state vice-president and former CPS KD Bhandari today questioned the development efforts of the Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) during their respective tenures in Jalandhar. Addressing the media, Bhandari highlighted the BJP’s achievements during its 10-year rule, claiming the party transformed Jalandhar into a “city of bridges”. He asked, “What have Congress and AAP done in the past eight years to ensure the city’s progress?”

Bhandari expressed confidence in the BJP’s strong position ahead of the Jalandhar Municipal Corporation elections, stating that the city would favour the BJP and ensure the victory of its mayoral candidate. He criticised the state government for its failure to provide adequate security to the people and said the public would reject both Congress and AAP in favour of the BJP.

State BJP general secretary Rakesh Rathore echoed similar sentiments, predicting a resounding victory for the BJP in the upcoming municipal elections. He credited the BJP’s development model for earning the trust of the public and expressed optimism that history would repeat itself.

Pathankot MLA Ashwani Sharma also addressed the gathering, accusing the state government of neglecting the poor and allowing lawlessness to prevail. He claimed that only the BJP could restore law and order in Jalandhar and provide security and stability to its residents.
