The BJP has set a target of recruiting four lakh new members in Jhajjar district to strengthen its organisational base. Jhajjar, which has four Assembly constituencies, aims to bring in one lakh new members per constituency.

“The BJP treats its work like a festival, whether it’s an election or any other programme, our workers approach it with enthusiasm,” said Om Prakash Dhankar, BJP national secretary. “We have set a target of four lakh new members in the district, and to achieve this, workshops will be held at the Mandal level from November 4 to 6. This campaign will be completed within a month. Workers who recruit 50 new members will be given the responsibility of an active worker,” Dhankar added.

Dhankar, who recently contested the Assembly elections from Badli constituency, expressed pride in being associated with the BJP, which he described as the world’s largest political party that follows an inclusive policy. “The BJP’s vision is to develop our rich culture along with development. In Haryana, the party has set a goal of 50 lakh new members. There are 20,629 booths across the state, with a target of recruiting 250 members at each booth,” said the former minister.

Criticising the Congress, Dhankar accused it of promoting only one family and sidelining other leaders and general workers. “The Congress has no real concern for public interest or the country’s progress. In the recent elections, Congress leaders were openly saying that government jobs would be distributed on a parchi (recommendation) basis if they came to power. In contrast, the BJP is committed to providing jobs purely on merit,” he said.

Dhankar claimed that the recent Assembly election results demonstrated public rejection of the Congress, calling it “the beauty of Indian democracy.” He concluded, “Our target is to garner over 60 per cent of votes in Jhajjar district.”
