BJP submits plaint to Ludhiana DC

Alleges step-motherly treatment to candidates

The BJP has alleged that step-motherly treatment was meted out to candidates of the party in the panchayat elections to be held on October 15.

Rajneesh Dhiman, president, Ludhiana BJP, said poll officials were not working in a transparent manner as BJP candidates were being threatened and treated badly as there was a tremendous pressure on the officials from the state government. He submitted a memorandum to the DC, stating that candidates were being falsely implicated in cases. adding that a BJP candidate from Daad was threatened and his papers were torn by miscreants. Stones were also pelted at his house. A complaint was filed but to no avail.
