BJP, RSS undermining principles of Constitution: Rahul Gandhi
With just days left for the Maharashtra Assembly elections, Congress MP and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday launched a scathing attack on the RSS and the BJP in Nagpur, blaming them for “covertly dismantling” the founding principles of the Constitution.
Addressing a Samvidhan Samman Sammelan, the Congress leader alleged that both the BJP and RSS had undermined the rights of marginalised communities. “The RSS knows that if it directly attacks the Constitution, it will be defeated within minutes,” Rahul said in Nagpur.
He alleged that the RSS and BJP had instead resorted to covert tactics, using narratives of “development, progress, and economy” to obscure their true intent. “If they have the courage, they should come forward, and we will take up their challenge,” he added.
Rahul alleged that institutions like Shishu Mandirs and Eklavya schools were being funded and expanded with a partisan agenda, questioning the source of funding. “They’re acquiring vast lands and setting up big buildings. Who is funding these projects?” he asked. Rahul also accused PM Narendra Modi of obstructing the demand for a caste census.
