BJP MP demands cancellation of Rahul’s passport over Sikh remarks
In a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, BJP’s Chittorgarh MP CP Joshi has demanded the cancellation of LoP Rahul Gandhi’s passport for his remarks on Sikhs in the US.
Rahul made the remarks during his recent trip to America during an interaction with university students and members of the Indian diaspora. Joshi accused the Rae Bareli MP of “defaming” the country, the security forces and industrialists on foreign trips.
“Rahul’s comments are not just political, they constitute anti-national activities that raise concerns about his conduct. His remarks could undermine both national stability and international relations as he is misusing his position,” Joshi wrote in his letter dated September 24.
Reacting to the development, Congress leader and former Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot said Joshi’s letter was not only ridiculous, but also mischievous.
“What Rahul said about the Sikh community and Dalits in America was presented in a distorted manner. The countrymen have heard what he said. The BJP is making a failed attempt to defame Rahul,” the veteran Congress leader said.
