BJP misleading youth: Cong

In an election rally at Risalia Khera village in the Dabwali Assembly constituency, MP Deepender Hooda voiced support for Congress candidate Amit Sihag. He expressed confidence that Haryana was just a week away from a Congress government and the end of BJP rule. Hooda criticised the BJP for causing youth unemployment, rising crime, and drug addiction, asserting that under the BJP governance, Haryana had become a leader in corruption and despair.

Hooda pointed out that over 2 lakh government positions in the state remained unfilled. Instead of providing stable employment, the BJP had misled the youth with false promises. He vowed to abolish the contract-based hiring system and shut down the Haryana Kaushal Rojgar Nigam (HKRN), ensuring that contract workers would be absorbed into permanent roles based on merit.

Raising concerns about drug addiction, Hooda emphasised the tragic impact on young people, many of whom are falling prey to overdoses due to frustration. He criticised the government for allowing drugs to flood homes and turn athletes into addicts. Hooda recalled an incident where Chief Minister Khattar publicly humiliated a grieving mother who had asked for action against drug traffickers after her son’s death from addiction. Citing the NCRB data, Hooda revealed that Haryana had overtaken Punjab in drug-related deaths, with 47 to 50 youths dying annually from overdoses.

Hooda condemned the BJP-JJP alliance, calling it an unethical partnership focused on looting the state. He urged voters not to be misled by the tactics of JJP, INLD, or Independents, whom he accused of only trying to split the vote.
