The Chief Minister said it was the government of former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur that left behind a debt of over Rs 85,000 crore and other liabilities of Rs 10,000 crore. He added that even Anurag Thakur, former Union minister, was misleading people during his visits to the state. Anurag Thakur, who was a union minister of state for finance, knew the financial health of the state and he should have stated facts and figures instead of making political statements.

The Chief Minster said Jai Ram Thakur only wanted to politicise every issue and hardly came up with constructive suggestions. Now nobody was taking him seriously. The BJP leaders only believed in spreading rumours and they fear the truth. He said his only motive was to bring development to the state and make it self-reliant.

Earlier, the Chief Minister unveiled the statue of Laxmi Bai Rani of Jhansi near bus stand and inaugurated various beautification works completed at a cost of Rs 2.30 crore. The works done included rain shelter at Bhota Chowk, beautification of park in ward number 2, renovation work of Gandhi Chowk, park constructed in front of Government Senior Secondary School (Boys), street vendor market, aspirational toilet constructed near DC office and renovation work of Pratap Nagar Chowk, Dang Kuali Chowk and Puri Chowk in the town.
