The Delhi BJP, led by party president Virendra Sachdeva, launched the ‘Janta Ka Mudda Assembly Mein’ campaign from Connaught Place on Monday.

Aims to collect complaints from residents

  • The three-day initiative aims to collect complaints from residents, which BJP MLAs will raise in the two-day session of the Delhi Assembly, beginning from September 26.
  • Running until September 25, the campaign seeks to bring citizens’ concerns directly to the legislature.
  • The collected grievances will be compiled and presented in the Assembly to press the ruling AAP government for responses.

This three-day initiative aims to collect complaints from residents, which BJP MLAs will raise in the Delhi Assembly. Running until September 25, the campaign seeks to bring citizens’ concerns directly to the legislature.

Accompanied by Leader of Opposition Vijender Gupta and other senior BJP leaders, Sachdeva explained that party workers would gather complaint forms from residents during door-to-door outreach, especially during the Maha Sadasyata Abhiyan on September 25. The collected grievances will be compiled and presented in the Assembly to press the ruling AAP government for responses. He emphasised that these complaints will provide a direct record of the issues faced by citizens across Delhi.

BJP leaders, including MLAs Ajay Mahawar, OP Sharma, Mohan Singh Bisht, Abhay Verma, Anil Vajpayee and Delhi BJP media head Praveen Shankar Kapoor, stood outside Palika Market Metro Gate in Connaught Place, interacting with local citizens and collecting grievances on matters such as dirty water supply, waterlogging and traffic jams caused by e-rickshaws.

Sachdeva personally spoke with several Delhiites, including a woman and her daughter from Ashok Nagar, who highlighted issues such as poor water quality, waterlogging, unmaintained parks and e-rickshaw traffic congestion. Meanwhile, Gupta interacted with Rishi Rai from Gandhi Nagar and other office-goers, gathering complaints about rising electricity bills, sanitation problems and a lack of social welfare and civic amenities.

“Most people who filled forms at Connaught Place want us to address issues like hefty electricity bills due to surcharges, dirty water, irregular pensions, encroachments and the lack of essential services such as sanitation and park maintenance,” Gupta said.

Sachdeva reaffirmed the BJP’s commitment to addressing the concerns of Delhi residents. “These complaint forms will be submitted to Gupta, who will shortlist the key issues to be raised in the Delhi Assembly,” he added.

Gupta also expressed frustration over the AAP government’s refusal to hold Question Hour in the Assembly, calling it a denial of constitutional rights. “The Delhi Assembly is meant to raise citizens’ issues during Question Hour, but the Kejriwal government has denied BJP MLAs this constitutional opportunity. We will not allow this to continue. With the strength of citizens’ complaint forms, we will raise these concerns and stall the Assembly until Atishi addresses them,” Gupta stated.

The Delhi BJP has also provided an email and WhatsApp number for residents to submit their complaints. Citizens can email their grievances to bjpdelhinew@gmail.com or send a WhatsApp message to 9013176080.
