The ruling BJP has geared up for the Assembly elections as the Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs and Minister of Power, Manohar Lal Khattar, today held a meeting with party workers and leaders in the party’s district office, ‘Karan Kamal’, on Saturday. He urged them to focus on the upcoming state poll and work hard to ensure the party’s victory in these elections.
“Since the Assembly elections are approaching, I met the party workers and leaders to discuss a comprehensive poll strategy. We are well prepared for the elections, and are sure to win for the third consecutive time in the state,” said Khattar.
According to party sources, Khattar gave tips to the leaders on several ways to improve the poll performance, and also assured them that he would visit all nine segments of the Karnal Lok Sabha constituency to listen to their issues and address them.
Meanwhile, the former CM accused the Congress of spreading lies and rumors, saying these tactics would not work in the upcoming poll. Besides, Khattar welcomed the announcement made by Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding Nayab Singh Saini being the CM candidate in Haryana.
He criticised Rahul Gandhi for his remarks in the Lok Sabha and accused him of targeting Hindus. “I am surprised by the language used by Rahul Gandhi. People will teach him a lesson,” he said.
On the issue of rising crime in the state, he expressed his concern and said all agencies were working together to contain the rising crime rates in Haryana. “The Central agencies are working hard to address the issue of cross-country crimes. The state government is also making efforts for the same,” he said.
Khattar also announced several projects for the state — including one under the Waste to Wealth Mission. Under this project, coal will be produced from waste in Faridabad and Gurugram. Talking about the issue of recent hike in the tariff in telecom companies, he said it was the firms’ decision and that the government had no role to play in it.
