The BJP has filed a police complaint against a “fake order”, which was attributed to former BJP J&K president Ravinder Raina.

A BJP spokesperson said a “fake, edited order” had been circulated in the media, falsely attributed to Ravinder Raina by “political opponents”.

In the police complaint, the BJP says that the fake order claims, “On the directions of the party high command, all BJP workers of Kashmir province are directed to attend the welcome rally of Abdul Rashid Sheikh (Engineer Rashid).” However, the complaint further read, “This order is entirely fake and baseless.”

The party further said its leader Sat Sharma had replaced Ravinder Raina as the state BJP president, and the viral order was entirely fake.

“It is important to clarify that Shri Sat Sharma is currently the BJP’s J&K working president, and no such directive has been issued by the party,” the complaint read. “The circulation of this fake order is an attempt to mislead public and damage the reputation of our party and leaders,” it read.

In his complaint, Sajid Yousuf Shah, BJP media co-convener (J&K), said, “I request you to register an FIR against the unidentified miscreants, who are responsible for creating and spreading this fake order, and conduct a thorough investigation to identify and take action against them.”
