BJP, Central Govt playing with Arvind Kejriwal’s life, says AAP MP
New Delhi, July 13
Expressing concern over the continuous weight loss of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and significant dips in his blood sugar levels at night several times since his arrest on March 21, senior AAP leader Sanjay Singh said on Saturday that these could be signs of a serious illness.
Singh alleged that the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi were conspiring to keep Kejriwal in jail and to jeopardise his health.
“A conspiracy is being hatched by the BJP and its Central Government to make him suffer from a severe disease, to cause an incident to occur with him in jail, to have some serious health problem,” he said.
When Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a money laundering case connected to the alleged liquor policy scam, Singh said Kejriwal’s weight was 70 kg. Today, his weight has dropped by 8.5 kg to 61.5 kg.
“The reason for this is not known, and no serious investigation is being done to find out how he lost so much weight,” he added.
Singh mentioned that Kejriwal’s blood sugar level has fallen below 50 mg/dL on five occasions since he has been in Tihar jail.
Although Kejriwal was granted bail by the trial court last month, the probe agency moved the High Court, which later stayed the order. On Friday, the Supreme Court granted interim bail to the Delhi CM in the money laundering case; however, he will still remain in jail due to his arrest in a corruption case being investigated by the CBI.
The senior AAP leader said the entire country should be aware of Kejriwal’s health condition and that if he is not released soon and given proper treatment, any serious incident may happen with him in jail. “If his sugar level is falling like this while sleeping, then anything can happen to him, and he could also go into a coma. I am hopeful that he will get relief soon in the CBI case as well. Whatever the BJP and PM Modi are doing to us, we will respond to it together,” Singh said.
Meanwhile, Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva responded, “Sanjay Singh should first answer whether the liquor excise policy was changed or not. Kejriwal is the mastermind of this whole scam. So, Singh should ask him about the theft of crores of rupees.”
