Bishop Cotton School holds golf awards ceremony
The old boys of Bishop Cotton School, Shimla, organised a golf awards presentation at the Chandigarh Golf Club to celebrate the school’s 165 years of existence.
Over 150 Old Cottonians participated in the event, which brought together the BCS school authorities, teachers and alumni, including veteran Cottonians.
The golf award presentation ceremony honoured the golf achievements of participants at the annual golf tournament. Simon Weale, director, Bishop Cotton School, awarded the overall best gross player award to Ransher Randhawa.
TPS Phoolka, Old Cottonians Association (I), northern chapter, president, emphasised the need for values of fraternity, camaraderie and sportsmanship among the alumni.
The OCA community came together in their traditional style, culminating in a formal dinner, where alumni of all ages mingled and participated in various activities.
Jaswant Dayal, 82, former senior master, played the piano for the school song. A special screening of a film showcasing the 165 years of BCS history was held, which was put together by Rebecca Weale (communication head, BCS) and Adhiraj Mustafi (director of performing arts, BCS).
Rajwant Singh Sandhu (84), batch of 1957, was honoured for being the oldest alumnus.
