State BJP president Rajeev Bindal today said that Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh sukhu and other Congress leaders were trying to mislead the people of Haryana by making false claims.

Bindal, in a statement issued here, said, “The Congress is spreading lies during the Haryana elections. Having come to power on the back of false guarantees in Himachal, the Congress is now making false claims of having fulfilled these promises. It knew very well that it would not be possible to fulfil them considering the financial position of the state,” he said.

Bindal alleged that the Congress had committed a big fraud on people to win the elections in Himachal. “The Chief Minister is making false claims that the promise of providing Rs 1,500 per month to women in the 18-60 age group has been fulfilled. His claim that employment has been provided to lakhs of people is also totally false,” he added.

He said the Narendra Modi government at the Centre had continuously provided funds for development to Himachal Pradesh. “Today, the work on four-lane highways, tunnels, bridges and other development works is going on at a fast pace. Development works of about Rs 1 lakh crore have been carried out in Himachal with Central assistance,” he said.

Bindal said that the Central Government was providing funds for all works being undertaken in Himachal Pradesh. “The people of the country and the state have understood the reality of the Congress and the Himachal Government and will not be misled by their false claims anymore,” he added.
