Jalandhar: Bihar native’s murder case solved

The Jalandhar Police Commissionerate claimed to have solved the murder case of a Bihar native with the arrest of a person.
Duo had a dispute on January 5
Chanchal Kumar and Baleshwar Rai had a dispute on the night of January 5. Police Commissioner Swapan Sharma said the dispute turned violent after Baleshwar hurled abuses at Chanchal. During altercation, Baleshwar hit him on the head with a wooden stick
Police Commissioner Swapan Sharma said Chanchal Kumar, originally from Bihar, was murdered a few days ago.
During investigation, the police found that Chanchal Kumar and Baleshwar Rai, also from Bihar, were living on rent at Kot Kalan in Jalandhar for the past few months. They had a dispute on the night of January 5.
The Commissioner said the dispute turned violent after Baleshwar hurled abuses at Chanchal Kumar. During altercation, Baleshwar hit him on the head with a wooden stick. Chanchal was rushed to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
Consequently, the Commissioner of Police said a case under Section 302 of the IPC was registered at the Jalandhar Cantonment police station. The police arrested the suspect and further investigations were on into the case.
