Bib Expo at military station celebrates veterans
The Bib Expo, held at the Jaipur Military Station ahead of the ‘honour-run’ on December 8, offered a unique and thrilling experience. The event featured martial arts demonstrations by Army personnel, including Kalarippayattu, Gatka, a paramotor display and trick riding by the 61 Cavalry.
The event was graced by the chief guest Madan Dilawar, Rajasthan’s Education and Panchayati Raj Minister, along with Lieutenant General Manjinder Singh, Army Commander of the Sapta Shakti Command; Barinder Jeet Kaur, Regional President of AWWA, Sapta Shakti Command; Ritu Gaur, General Manager of State Bank of India; and Deepa Malik, Padma Shri and Arjuna Awardee. They had the honour of presenting the first bibs to prominent runners.
Paralympian Dr Deepa Malik, Asian marathon champion Sunita Godara, Sangeeta Bishnoi and para athlete Colonel Anuj Bindra inspired the audience with their motivational speeches. The event also saw participation from senior Army officials, students from Army Public Schools and NCC cadets.
The honour-run, scheduled for December 8, would feature time-based categories: 21 km, 10 km and 5 km, along with a 3 km fun run. The event would be flagged off by Colonel Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Minister for Industry and Commerce, IT and Communication.
Colonel Amitabh Sharma said the event aims to honour the courage, sacrifice and service of the Indian Army’s brave veterans, while also promoting health awareness.
