Bhupinder Singh Hooda calls meeting of his ‘loyalist-MLAs’ ahead of Congress legislative party meeting
In a show of strength, former Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has called a meeting of his ‘loyalist-MLAs’ ahead of the Congress legislature party meeting at his Delhi residence on Wednesday evening.
Sources in the party said that the MLAs have been called to discuss the issue of Leader of Opposition in the Haryana Vidhan Sabha.
A Congress leader suggested that with nearly 28 legislators on his side, the MLAs would, most likely, propose that status quo be maintained and Hooda be chosen to continue as the Leader of Opposition in the House.
This is the first meeting being called by the minister since the assembly election results were declared and the Congress, hoping to make a comeback in government, lost to the Bharatiya Janta Party which is all set to form a government in the state for the third time.
